In the recently concluded Smart Port Challenge (SPC) 2021, a competition held under a joint initiative PIER71™ (Port Innovation Ecosystem Reimagined at BLOCK71) driven by the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) and NUS Enterprise. Mr. Hor Weng Yew, MD & CEO of Pacific Carriers Limited was invited as the Chief Judge in the judging panel to select the winning finalists based on their business ideation and propositions. PIER71™ provides startups opportunities to sharpen their product offerings and make a positive impact with technology in the maritime industry. PCL is pleased to support this initiative, engaged in meaningful conversations and shared insights with the participants during SPC 2021. Pacific Carriers Limited is pleased to participate in the Sea Crew Vaccination (SEAVAX) initiative to provide vaccination to the first group of foreign non-resident seafarers. We believe vaccination provides our seafarers an additional protection against the virus as they work tirelessly round the clock amid the pandemic.
